About WriteOnline

Background

Write Online was designed by writing experts from three universities who work with students on a daily basis. Our guides introduce you to the particularities of these genres, provide practical strategies for you to try in your own writing, and use model texts to help you better understand the organization, format, and language used in each of these types of writing.

Purpose

WriteOnline provides post-secondary students with practical guidance on how to write a variety of academic papers. WriteOnline is a collaborative initiative between the University of Waterloo, University of Guelph and Wilfrid Laurier University and was developed for the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) as part of the Ontario Online initiative. The goal of this initiative is to extend high quality online learning opportunities to students in the province and beyond.

Funding

Funding for this project was administered through the Council of Ontario Universities (COU) and provided through the Shared Online Course Fund from the MTCU.
